As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax booth; and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he got up and followed him. – Matthew 9:9
In this weekend’s assigned reading, we are reminded of Jesus’ tendency to call the last, the lost, and the least likely to be about the work of the kingdom. In Sunday worship, we will dig a little deeper into Matthew, chapter 9, and the ways that God uses interruptions in our lives to bring us healing and reveal Christ’s presence in our midst.
