“Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate-school mountain, but there at the sandpile at Sunday School.” – Robert Fulghum
St. Andrew’s offers a variety of Sunday School classes for students of all ages each Sunday morning from 9:30am-10:30am. This year we are offering the following classes:
3&4 Year Old Class
This class uses games, crafts, music, snacks, and play time to help our youngest friends understand stories from the Old and New Testament and to model Christian behavior.
K-5th Grade Classes use the Spark Classroom Program which begins the year with Old Testament stories and finishes with the New Testament.
K-1st Grade Class
This class introduces students to the bible using fun activities and crafts to reinforce the message in the day’s bible story.
2nd-3rd Grade Class
Students begin to explore the bible on their own, finding the day’s stories and highlighting passages in their own bibles.
4th-5th Grade Class
Students delve a little deeper into the bible stories, focusing on the important lessons these stories have to offer us as Christians today.
6th-8th Grade Class – Annex
Students study the Old Testament one year, and the New Testament the next year. They have the opportunity to ask questions and talk about how the stories relate to their lives.
Special Events
Throughout the year, the Sunday School has special events which bring all the classes and their families together. These include Reformation Sunday, All Saint’s Day, the Christmas Pageant, Love Sunday, Butterfly Sunday, and Palm Sunday.
The Sunday School also sponsors many service projects such as LWR’s Backpack Kits, Christmas Toys for Grace Lutheran Church, White Gift Offering which supports the Methacton School District, Souper Bowl of Caring which supports the Norristown Food Pantry, and a special Lenten Project which supports local charitable organizations.
