” Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. He fasted forty days and forty nights, and afterwards he was famished.” – Matthew 4:1-2
As Jesus gave up food and community for 40 days in preparation for his earthly ministry, this weekend reflection looks at the practice of giving something up for Lent. If you are joining us for in person worship, we will be reflecting upon the first reading from Genesis (2:15-17, 3:1-7). We hope that many of you will be with us as we gather around word and sacrament, prayer and song and are reminded of Christ’s steadfast love in our lives. We will also take time on Sunday to give thanks for the music ministry of Marcella Curtiss.
